Police academy and you have to become a state certified peace officer before you can start this job. 6. You are only required 11-16 weeks of training or 403 hours. 7. Three local academies that I could go to are Athens’s Regional Police Academy, North Central Georgia Law Enforcement Academy, and Roswell Police Academy. 8. The five activities that interest me in this career are: Carry a Weapon, Police Chases, Arrest people, Get in fight’s and Save a life. 9. The five things that I don’t think I would like about this job are: The paper work, the shoot out’s, writing ticket’s, going through the academy, and 10. The five critical skills I would need for this job are: Foreign Language, Training, Law Experience, Writing Ability, and Physical Ability are skills that are critical to do this job. 11. The skill I believe would be most important for this job is being able to fight, because people will resist when you try to arrest them and they will try to fight back or run so you also need to be fast so that you can catch them and arrest them. 12. The more training you have and the higher of a degree you have the sooner you can move up the ladder to the top ranks in the police force. 13. The three traits I believe would be good for this career I’m quick, I’m tough, and I’m smart. 14. You start with $25,000 a year and then it goes up to $40-60,000 a year for the annual pay. 15. The longer you stay in the Police field and the higher of a degree you have the sooner you can move up on the pay scale. 16. The average hours for this career is 40 hours a week, sometimes they can get overtime hours. No there is no travel involved in being a Police Officer. 17. Yes, because they are trying to lower the crime rate in the U.S. 18. Three career’s that go hand-in-hand with this job are Juvenile Police Officer, Juvenile Probation Officer, and Prison Guard’s Yes I think I will still peruse this career because it still interest’s me. I didn’t learn much when I did this project because my mom was a police officer so she has told me the basics. But I did learn what the annual pay was and what the requirements are to move up the ladder in the force. I hope that this career is the one that I stick with until I retire because it has a lot of things that I enjoy doing in it.
